We all submit articles in Ezine to get web traffic – If you don’t and you consider yourself a internet marketer, please step off the train. I know what you’re thinking, why would you even want to put forth the effort in getting your articles viewed more when you can just direct traffic straight to your site? Well, the answer lies in the “Most Viewed Articles” list for the past 90 days within EzineArticles.com. This gets a special section all to itself, and with Ezine being ranked 55 overall for the United States’ most heavily trafficked sites, you better believe you are going to get more traffic as well from your articles.

Nowadays it’s fairly hard to get the last article you wrote the hits necessary for the article to appear in the most viewed list. With a few simple tweaks, one can seriously charge up their article presence on Ezine as long as they are not pursuing a niche that has been dominated many times over. These tweaks have to do with paid traffic, bookmarking, keyword research, and a little backlinking.

Lets begin with keyword research

The very first thing that people neglect is (for some reason) the obvious one. Keyword Research. Your articles need to have the titles to contain keyword phrases that you will get ranked in the top ten for. Since we are talking about Ezinearticles.com authority, that part isn’t usually that difficult to do. If at all possible you want to get in 2-3 keyword phrases in the title and still have it read well. When researching ample keywords to use here, you have a number of choices.

Choice #1

For Example: Let’s say you have an article on ‘termites’

1) Go into the Google keyword tool, enter ‘termites’ and check the Synonym box. Then sort the list based on global monthly search volume in descending order.
2) Our goal will be to find 2-3 keyword phrases we can use that get at least 300 – 1500 searches a month/individually.

Right now, I’m finding the phrase ‘how to get rid of termites’ gets 2945 searches/month. It contains the phrase ‘Get rid of termites’ which gets 4441 searches/month. I could use
‘how to get rid of termites – effective treatment for termites.’ Walla!

‘how to get rid of termites’ – 2945 /searches a month
‘get rid of termites’ – 4441 searches/month
‘treatment for termites’ – 891 searches/month

The next step would be to find 6-8 keyword modifiers since Ezineartilces allows you to specify keywords. When you think of using keyword modifiers think of individual keyword slots and NOT keyword phrases. So for our given example I would use

how,to,get,rid,of,temites,termite,for,treatment

***Notice I used the single and plural of the keyword phrase

Choice #2

Choose a proven title. Proven titles are titles that have already worked in the past. How do you choose them? Find an article that has had 2000 or more page views and that has been submitted to ezinearticles. You want the phrases that were the actual title of the submitted article.

Type this into Google:

site:ezinearticles.com “Cat:Sub” “viewed min..max”

Cat – Is the category you want searched.
Sub - is the subcategory you want searched

For our purpose lets use:

site:ezinearticles.com “Home-Improvement:Pest-Control” “viewed 2000..15000″

make sure max is sufficiently high.

This will return a list of articles that have received over 2000 views. Use the Google keyword tool to determine requisite keyword phrases and combine those as needed.

Aside from keyword research we have a number of other options at our disposal here as well. I will outline them in a few simple step-by-steps.

1. Develop backlinks to your article

- This has to do with using the Best Ways of Backlinking post we did, and how backlinks can be indexed for better results.
- The idea is to boost your article in the search engine ranking system, assuming you made a good choice of keywords to use in your articles.
- Natural SEO traffic will both boost your view count AND potentially get you visitors to your website (assuming you have a good call to action in your article to get people to click through)
- This is a long term strategy, but actually works to build your business and SEO of your own site.
- You might need 100+ backlinks of relatively high page rank (PR) or authority to compete, even for keywords that only get 20-30 searches a day.

2. Bookmarking Campaign

- Get a lot of bookmarks (using software, bookmarking clubs, paid bookmarking, whatever) from a SINGLE social bookmarking site.
- “A lot” depends on the bookmarking site – might require 100′s for the big popular ones.
- The idea is to get onto the “popular” lists at the bookmarking sites – this can get 100′s, or even thousands of visitors to your article.
- Clickthrough rate from this sort of traffic is usually very low, unless your article is about some neat gadget, sex, a popular band or similar.
- The big bookmarking sites (e.g. Digg) don’t allow you to bookmark ezinearticles, so target the smaller, less-noted ones.

3. Buy “Traffic”

- Buy one of those “Guaranteed Visitor” packages, or buy visitors from a “Paid to View” service, or paid to surf service (manual and autosurfs).
- Usually the traffic is fake (bot traffic), clickthrough is essentially zero.
- You have to be careful with this, as ezinearticles seems to have some sort of script looking for this, and discounts views with no clickthroughs.
- Try to get the traffic fairly slowly (10,000 in one day will be discounted completely).

4. Paid Tools

- Using a tool such as SeNuke
- Brute Force or any other RSS submitter
- The idea is to submit the RSS feeds of any sites that you have links to your articles on.
- If any of the sites containing backlinks to your articles does not have a feed then go to the following website http://www.html2rss.com.
- Create one, then do your submissions. In fact you can actually mix regular feeds and the newly created feeds together and do submissions as often as you want. Just mix up the feeds in a different order every time. Not a lot of people know about this technique, but now you do!

Keep in mind that you can apply this method to other forms of media besides articles submissions. Blog posts is a good example by which you can essentially take this same method and apply it the same way in order to increase your blogging efforts. And that’s just one example.
