Lets face it, the days of picking keywords at random, writing a few articles, and making them visible to others in search engines are over. In order to build a website that gets ranked fast, you have to analyze your keywords. For example, You cannot take a competitive keyword term such as “Buy Dog Food” or “Get Dog Food” and simply hope for the best. There’s a lot more that one has to do nowadays in order to successfully execute a proper website or blog.
The only exception to this is if you are planning on making money with a niche like this for the long run.
Regardless of your goals, what if there was a way where you could take a fairly competitive term with less than 300K results in Google and rank it on the first page within a week or two. Also, what if we told you that the setup for this would be less than 2 hours, with the possibility of outsourcing most of the work. Is that something you would be interested in? I thought so…Now let’s cover how to accomplish this.
What we will be covering to here in order to build a website that gets ranked fast is the following:
*The URL
*The Site
*SEO
*The Content
*The Links
*Above And Beyond Backlinking

The URL
Search for keywords that people are searching for. These are the keywords you are going to use to get your keyword rich domain. Use Ajax Whois for this – It speeds up the domain search process. Also, No proper nouns! You can flip around words and still get SEO. A good example would be:
“RatesMortgageLoan.com”
Take your time here. Do your homework. Use the Google keyword tool (which you can find by typing in your keyword to Google’s Free Keyword Tool) to find search numbers. Check out the competition. Maybe find a deleted domain with traffic. For this I recommend FreshDrop.
Lets say you are really going for a micro niche. Think about more obscure levels deep within your topic. For example,
Washing machine –> Washing Machine Parts –> Washing Machine Washers
This is an example of something you can get setup, and then sell to an industry after you get the SERP ranks up. Your only role from here would be to then help them do PPC campaign management. Believe it or not, there are more clueless shopping carts sites out there that just sit, than SEO’d sites.
The Site
We use Wordpress. Google loves it. You can get the Semiologic Theme if you want a plug and play SEO’d theme or you can go with what we use – Thesis – if you would like the ability to completely custom tailor your site’s design and functionality while having it still be juiced up for optimum search-engine-friendly juice. Just don’t bog down your site with to many activated plugins.
Site Hints:
- *Capitalize the post title and meta description. I would hard code the meta description in the Semiologic SEO Plugin (if that is your theme of choice)
*.html your posts in Permalinks Settings – /%postname%.html/
*Keyword Alt your images.
*NO broken links. Note – A Missing favicon.ico will get you a 404 with some theme installs.
*Auto Sitemap Plugin:

The Content:
You have 3 choices here:
1) Write the content yourself (always the best option)
Check out the monthly niches Cash Maker Elite comes up with for your content-writing ideas
2) Get someone else to write the content for you
Elance.com, Odesk.com (My personal favorite), DigitalPoint.com (Cheapest)
3) Use the Uniquefier php plugin. It’s only $15 and worth every penny. Now you can grab any relevant article and not get slapped for duplicate content by Copyscape.
This method is NOTrecommended unless you are autoblogging the outer rings of your blog farm (more on this later).

The Links:
Always be thinking link juice!
You can look into Senuke for some initial link building. However, if this is your first time, I HIGHLY recommend doing the link building process manually before ruining your hard work.
I like blog comments (also old post forum threads)…
The key is to not make the moderator mad by spamming your anchor text as your name/signature. My suggestion is to insert a smiley into the comment text. That’s right a
You don’t get the anchor juice but there is still link juice. You can use the Firefox SEO plugin to find high page-ranking blogs. Then submit ping/RSS after you get the URL. *Note* Don’t always use your main URL for 1/2 of these as it’s not good backlinking protocol. Instead, send them to your buffer sites as explained below. Also, it’s good to put more than one smiley in with links to other high authority sites. This keeps Google – as well as your competitors – guessing about what links are for what. Do the same thing in your own blog posts.
Do Follow Blogs:
These are the most moderated. So take your time.

Backlinking Smiley Faces
Be careful and only do a couple of quality links per day to your direct site.
Above And Beyond Backlinking
* Create a Myspace profile named Yourdomain.com
* Submit 1 article to article directories with your keyword as the title
* Upload Videos with your url in the description to Myspace tv
* Create an Amazon AStore named Yourdomain-com
* Create a channel on YouTube using your keyword – Use URL in video description.
* Post a topic on related forums with the keyword in the subject line. (try something like yourdomain.com may be for sale – anyone interested?)
* Create a Yahoo Group called Yourdomain-com
* Create a Google group called Yourdomain-com
* Create a MyBlogLog account named yourdomain.com
* Use a social bookmarking program like BookMarking Demon. (Only after you have done it manually first)
* Upload video to AOL video with the title yourdomain.com and your url in the description
* Run all of these urls (not your own site) through BookMarkingDemon, TrackBack Spider, Blogpinger, and whatever else you can leave on while you sleep.
Ping every 12 hours
MaxBlogPress has a MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer you can install as a plugin for Wordpress. Once installed, you can enter this ping list into it’s settings so that this process is done automatically for you.
Here is a unique list of ping sites to ping to.
